Wilkesboro. During the next two years, Eubanks and Oates continued their relationship, posting several top-10 finishes and then notching a pair of pole positions in 1953 at Martinsville and Macon. He finished fifth in the point standings after the 1954 season, when he again drove for Oates but the elusive first victory still had not been attained. Beginning in 1955, he ran less than half the scheduled events and he competed in the two Charlotte races in his final season of competition in 1961.
