Although brothers Fonty and Tim won more races, gathered more headlines and had longer careers, many observers of stock car racing's pioneer days firmly believed that Bob Flock was the most talented driver in the family. Born in Fort Payne, AL, Bob and the entire Flock brood moved to Atlanta when their father died in 1925. It was hardscrabble tough for the family, but an Atlanta-based uncle, Peachtree Williams, had a thriving moonshine business.
