Eventually they began matching their whiskey cars against those of other delivery men, and when Bill France, Sr. formed NASCAR in l948, the Flocks were ready to answer the call. Bob, Tim and Fonty were all in the field for the first NASCAR Strictly Stock race in Charlotte, with Bob on the pole and leading the historic race early.
